VCRC’s athletes brings two gold home

Elk Lake – The Victoria City Rowing Club is proud to announce that the Under 17 Women’s eight an Under 19 Women’s quad brought home gold medals from the Canadian Royal Henley Regatta in St Catharines, ON. Out of the 141 participating clubs Victoria City Rowing Club ended as the 5th club in the overall efficiency ranking.

In the U17 Women’s Eight; Sophia Regosa, Ava Paul, Claire Hallett, Mira Calder, Stella Fraser, Nina Corwin, Ellie Sousa, Julia Peterson and Stephanie Wardell. “The crew trained really hard all year and had a very solid race.” Said coach Griffin Thomas.

Representing VCRC in the Under 19 Women’s quad; Paige Letham, Izzy Edey, Sally Jones and Sierra Inglis. “With three crew from BC on the start line in the A final we knew some of the competition” explained Paige Letham “Our season had ups and downs; it was amazing to be able to put down our best race possible for the race where it really mattered.”
