VICTORIA CITY ROWING CLUB ATHLETES COMPLETE NATIONAL SELECTION REGATTA AT ELK LAKE
Elk Lake, BC -The Victoria City Rowing Club is proud to announce that four members earned medals at the 2019 Speed Orders National Selection Regatta this past weekend in Victoria, BC.
Ivy Elling Quaintance captured the gold medal in the Women Pairs, Jaclyn Stelmaszyk earned a gold medal in the Lightweight Women Single, Kate Sauks earned silver in the Lightweight Women Single and Trish Mara completed the podium with a bronze in the Lightweight Women Single.
In total, six alumni and twelve current VCRC members participated in the 2019 Speed Orders National Selection Regatta. Speed Orders is an open small boat trial for athletes interested in being considered for selection onto a 2019 RCA National Team at the following events: World Rowing Under 23 Championships; Pan American Games; and/or Trans-Tasman U21 Regatta.
The top athletes from Speed Orders will be invited to the selection camp that is taking place on Elk Lake this week before getting named to the 2019 RCA National Team.
The Victoria City Rowing Club (VCRC) is a not-for-profit, member-driven rowing club operating out of the Victoria Rowing Society (VRS) boathouse on Elk Lake in Victoria, BC.
