All top Canadian rowers will compete on Elk Lake
May 22, 2019

Elk Lake, BC – The Victoria City Rowing Club is pleased to announce that Speed Orders 2019, the National Selection Regatta, will take place on Elk Lake on June 14-16.

Speed Orders is an open small boat trial, compulsory for those interested in being considered for selection onto the 2019 RCA National Team, and representing Canada at the following events: U23 World Championships; Pan American Games; and/or Trans-Tasman U21 Regatta.

This regatta is unique in that it is hosted each year by a different club across the country. 2019 is our turn, and we need your help to make it a success! We're looking for volunteers for a variety of positions, from boat drivers to course and site prep crews, and everything in between. Volunteering is a really fun way of experiencing a regatta, with this one being a particularly great event for junior rowers to volunteer at, as it offers a close up view at where you might be in a few years yourselves!

A volunteer sign up sheet has been set up here. No experience? No worries! In addition to job descriptions in the sign up sheet itself, each area has a coordinator who will support and instruct his/her volunteers in the tasks required. If particular experience is needed, it is annotated directly in the position description in the sign up sheet.
