VICTORIA CITY ROWING CLUB ATHLETES COMPLETE BC JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

Elk Lake, BC – The Victoria City Rowing Club is proud to announce that five junior members earned medals at the 2019 BC Junior Rowing Championships this past weekend on Quamichan Lake, BC.

Alex Gonin and Owen Marcovitz captured the gold medal in the Under-19 Men Pair, while Sally Jones and Sierra Inglis earned a bronze medal in the Under-19 Women Pair. In the Under-19 Singles meanwhile, Michael Keane was awarded the bronze medal. 

“We improved from one race to the next,” said Sally Jones following the regatta. “We did everything we could, and it was a great experience to have close races and be pushed all the way to the finish line.”

The BC Junior Championships was the first step to be selected to the 2019 Junior National Team who will compete at the 2019 World Junior Rowing Championships in Tokyo, Japan and the 2019 CanAmMex regatta in Sarasota, FL. 

The Victoria City Rowing Club (VCRC) is a not-for-profit, member-driven rowing club operating out of the Victoria Rowing Society (VRS) boathouse on Elk Lake in Victoria, BC.
