Coaches: Things to Note

The following is a list of items that coaches should be aware of for the weekend:

Trailer Parking

  • Please stop your trailer after you get through the park gates and come up to the boathouse office. We will instruct you where to park.

Race Schedule

  • Race Schedule - is updated throughout the day and will be posted on the results board. We are only printing updated race schedules and will not print updated trees
  • Scratches - are submitted at the registration tent.

Flow Patterns and Launch Times

  • In / Out Flow Pattern - with boathouse construction we do not have access to the compound. All boats will be flowing through the fire lane. This means that crews are not allowed to stretcher boats on the tarmac. Make sure shoes are tied down properly before bringing boats down
  • Launch Times - crews can launch 20 minutes before the race. Starts are every 5 minutes so make sure your crews know their race number, time of race, lane number, and bow number. Umpires have been instructed to not hold the start so make sure your crews to listen to the officials as they call boats into the marshaling area. Crews should be marshaled to enter the gate no less than five minutes before the start.
  • Warm Up Pattern - warm up area is located between the Pat Bay Highway and the race course. Warm pattern is counter clock wise.

Bow Marker Deposit

  • Bow Marker Deposit - we accept bow marker returns starting Sunday at noon. Please take all your club's bow markers to the registration / volunteer tent and we will give you the cash back. Each club will be required to sign off that they have received the deposit so do not send bow markers back one at a time.

Awards

  • Awards - finals are Sunday afternoon and first place crews receive a medal, second place crews receive a ribbon. The first place crews will be asked to stretcher their boat in front of the awards tent - located at the top of the In Dock. We will quickly present medals and take photos for each event. Second place crews can come to the awards tent after putting their boat away to collect their ribbons.
  • Singles Cash Prizes - Brenda Taylor will issue a cheque for $250 after the awards ceremony.
  • Junior Single Jackets - the jackets will be custom sized and therefore need to be made by Row West. A Row West representative will be on hand to take the size of the singles winners. Jackets will be shipped directly to the winner.
