ABOUT US - General Information

Victoria City Rowing Club (VCRC) is a non-profit rowing club, operating out of the Victoria Rowing Society (VRS) boathouse located at Elk Lake.

VCRC's mission statement is:

"To provide a broad range of quality opportunities
for fostering the sport of rowing"

As a non-profit society, VCRC is run by a Board of Directors, elected by club members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), typically held in November of each year.  The Club’s fiscal year is from October 1st through September 30th and annual member registration occurs October 1st of each year; though you are eligible to take out a membership anytime of year.

There are four classes of membership:  Junior (individuals under 18 yrs), Senior (individuals over 18 yrs), Non-Rowing and Honorary.  Within the Senior Member classification, VCRC offers annual rowing programs based on competitive categorization - Masters, Seniors, and a non-coached option.

VCRC also offers a variety of recreational and seasonal rowing programs and services that include programs for the complete beginner (young and old), Corporate Retreats, customized training camps, and private coaching.

The Board of Directors leads the club towards achieving the Club’s mission statement and provides direction to VCRC staff that carry out the day-to-day on-site operations of the Club.  The Club currently has a Club Manager, a Programs Coordinator, three Head Coaches for the Junior, Senior and Masters programs, and a Boatman.

The sport of rowing is enjoyed by all; from an adult learning to row for the fun of it, to the elite athletes training for their Olympic Dream.
