Junior Fall Performance Development Program

The Fall Performance Development Program runs from early September to late November every year.  This program hosts a small group (8-12 seats) of pre elite/high performance athletes in an attempt to foster their development towards National Rowing Championships and the Junior National Team.

Focus:

The Fall Performance Development Program focuses on developing technique in small boats and putting a large volume of kilometers essential for those athletes with high performance goals.

Tentative Practice Schedule:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 4:00 - 6:15 p.m.
Sunday 8:45 am - 10:45 am and 11:45 am - 1:45 p.m.

Application Requirements:

  • RADAR score submission - Max Watts, 1 min, 2km, 6km, 1 hour
  • Time Trial - 1 x 2km in a single and/or pair
  • 250 word essay on how the Fall Performance Development Program will benefit your high performance goals
  • Application Deadline: July 30, 2011
Selection:

Selection into the program will depend on the quality of the candidates applying to the program with preference given to those athletes who rank the highest on RADAR designations (ergometer and on water time trial) starting from National Development, Talent Development, and down to Club Elite. 

Competition:

Athletes in the Fall Development Program have the opportunity to race at:
  • Head of the Gorge (Victoria)
  • Head of the Elk (Victoria)
  • Head of the Lake (Seattle,WA)- November 6, 2011
  • National Rowing Championships – Provincial Team – November 11-13, 2011
Fee: $350.00 (HST included)
