THRIFTY FOODS SMILE CARD PROGRAM

We are happy to report that the Thrifty Smile Card Program is back in operation at VCRC!

The Club’s application was approved and Thrifty Smile Cards are now available for all interested VCRC club members as well as family members and friends.  The VCRC Smile Card distribution and management is coordinated by Lynn Charman.  Lynn is generally at the boathouse on weekend mornings and/or can arrange to meet members at other times to distribute cards.

Thrifty Foods donates 5% of the total dollars loaded onto the Smile Cards back to the Club.  This is a very important fundraiser and all the funds raised through this program are directed towards the purchase of new boats as needed to maintain the safety and quality of our fleet of club equipment.

Cards can be loaded at any Thrifty Foods Customer Service Desk or through a cashier using a debit card, credit card or cash.  If loaded via a cashier the card must be loaded before the purchase is rung through.

Note:

• Lost or stolen cards should be reported immediately by calling Thrifty Foods Customer Service (250-544-1234 or 1-800-667-8280) or by going to any Thrifty Foods store. Once reported, existing funds on the card will be locked. In order to accumulate funds for the organization on future card loads, a replacement card must be obtained from the organization administrator.
• Cards that have become demagnetized (i.e. “swipe errors”) should be replaced as soon as possible. In order to accumulate funds for the organization on future card loads, a replacement card must be obtained from the organization administrator. The balance from the demagnetized card can be transferred to the new card at the customer service desk of any Thrifty Foods store.
• Card holders may check their card balance by visiting www.thriftyfoods.com (Our Services, Smile Cards, Check my Smile Card). Balances are also displayed on grocery receipts.
